Aluminium Tubes for Cooling Systems – EN AW-6060 T66

Looking for high-quality aluminium tubes for cooling water systems? We supply aluminium tubes in EN AW-6060 T66, a widely used extrusion alloy that offers an excellent combination of strength, workability, and corrosion resistance.

This aluminium alloy is ideal for applications where a lightweight, reliable, and easily workable solution is required, such as in automotive, motorsport, and technical installations.

FAQ

Why choose EN AW-6060 T66?

EN AW-6060 is a popular choice for cooling systems thanks to:

  • Good corrosion resistance

  • Excellent weldability

  • High machinability

  • Lightweight

  • Suitable for custom applications

The T66 (F22) temper provides an optimal balance between mechanical strength and formability, which is essential for piping systems and assembly.

For which applications suitable?
  • Cooling systems in motorsport and racing

  • Automotive applications

  • Mechanical engineering and industry

  • Piping and technical installations

How to bend aluminium tubes?

For optimal bending results, we recommend annealing (stress relieving) the tubes first. This helps prevent cracking and improves bending reliability.

Bending process:

  • Mark the tube with a permanent marker

  • Heat the tube evenly using a wide torch

  • When the marking disappears, the correct temperature has been reached

Recommended annealing temperature: 300–400 °C

This method ensures controlled heating and makes the material locally more ductile, resulting in a clean and reliable bend.
